Frequently Asked Questions

Your Questions, Answered: Everything You Need to Know

Venous leg ulcers are sores that appear on the leg, usually between the ankle and the knee, because blood isn’t flowing properly in the veins. In the US, they’re common, affecting 1-2% of adults.

Things like getting older, being overweight, having blood clots in your legs, or past leg injuries can it make more likely to get them. They are very difficult to heal and cause a lot of pain and discomfort to those affected.

Treatment usually involves using bandages or stockings to help blood flow better, taking care of the wound (removing dead and damaged tissue), helping wound closure and fixing the problems in the veins that caused the ulcer in the first place.

Informed consent is an essential process in clinical trials. Before joining a study, you will receive all important information about its purpose, procedures, potential risks, and benefits.

You will have the opportunity to ask questions and decide whether you want to participate. Your consent is given voluntarily and in writing. Additionally, you can withdraw from the study at any time without providing a reason.

Participating in a clinical trial typically includes several steps. First, you will have a pre-screening interview with our support team to determine if the study is a good fit for you. If eligible, you will review and sign an informed consent form before completing an on-site screening check and starting the study treatment.

During the study, you will need to attend regular visits, undergo medical tests, be treated with the study medication/dressings, and follow the trial’s guidelines. Your health will be closely monitored, and you can ask questions at any time. Participation is always voluntary, and you can withdraw at any point.

To take part in this clinical study, you should be at least 18 years old and have been diagnosed with a venous leg ulcer. In addition, your wound should have been present for at least 4 weeks, but no longer than 1 year. The wound area to be treated is in the range of 2-25 cm² (up to 4 square inches).
